Rotary Dehumidifier in the Application of Large-scale Hydropower Plants
Dongjiang Hydropower Plant is located in the upper middle reaches of Xiangjiang River tributary in Zixing city, Hunan Province. A subtropical climate; 4 to 10 months of each year, the plant is seriously condensation, floors, walls, tube outer surface will constantly flow out condensation water, resulting in generator stator bar end corrosion, water room electrical components malfunction, affecting the system's normal production, which is common in hydropower plants.
In the past, large power plants both domestic and international mostly adopted the method of dressing insulation layer for supply and drainage pipes to solve this problem. But temperature difference is too large between air and cold objects, after prolonged exposure to water pipes, the coating layer will be as cold as the cold objects(cold water), condensation still exists; Another way is to dressing the inner with insulation materials, outer with plexiglass steel or aluminum alloy plate, although the condensation in the outer surface has been reduced, but it cannot discharged the wet air between cold objects and insulation, so after a period of time, the surface of most pipes are corrosion, condensation then converted to corrosion problems. From the practice of the large power plants, we can see that: neither coating nor thermal insulation cannot solve the problem fundamentally.
Combined with the technology in Western Japan Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Jetex-lloyd's presents a new and reliable solution—desiccant rotary dehumidifier. Through the efficient rotor's absorption of water in the air, reducing the air dew point, this solves the condensation in equipment surface problems fundamentally. Jetex-lloyd's adopted an anti-condensation and energy-saving dehumidification system in the East River power plant, the system has applied for national invention patent. In 2009, the system was installed in the primary machinery room successfully, this is the first time the East River Power plant solve the old problem completely.
